July 18, 2011

We have had a busy but pleasant week. We went to the airport to watch nine very special missionaries leave for home. We drove three cars to the airport. We will miss these departing missionaries, but we are excited to for the five new ones arriving the next day, three elders and two sisters. After picked them up from the airport, we went directly to Mars Hill for a testimony meeting. The new missionaries are guests in our apartment for a few nights until they go to their assigned locations.
We spent some time preparing for our talks in Sacrament Meeting. We are both speaking in church on Sunday. With vacations, the other two members of the branch presidency will be gone and all three pianists are out of town, so I will conduct and Linda will play the piano. When we arrived at church, we were happy to see that we had 10 visitors from Virginia.
We are looking forward to a dinner with Thanos and the rest of the cousins early next week.
The highlight of the week was the birth of Cleo Kay Ladle. We loved the pictures and updates.
We appreciate all the letters and prayers!

Cousin Noto

We met another cousin. She is 82 years old but she is very sharp. Her name is Nota, short for Panayota.

We have had a great week. We got to say good-bye to several missionaries being released and headed for home. We got to meet the five new elders entering the mission field from the MTC. We drove missionaries around the city to facilitate transfers - without getting lost! We participated in part of a Zone Conference and we hosted three different groups here in the mission office during the week.
Perhaps the highlight of the week was getting to meet another cousin - albeit one from the US who is part Greek and served a senior mission here 10 years ago. Of course, the best part if being together and helping the missionary work here in Greece. We miss every one of you and enjoy hearing from you.

Cousins

Dad, Nathan and Cousin Spiros in Greece about to enjoy so yummy food (with amber-colored Coke?).

Nathan and Camille's Visit

We were thrilled to have Nathan and Camille come to visit us in Greece. We had a fun day with them sightseeing , shopping and eating souvlaki from the same place we first enjoyed it in Greece! We were so delighted to take them to meet some Androutsos cousins.

Lizard in the Office

Tonight Bob brought in a box from the patio to tape up to put in storage, out scampered the tiniest brown lizard you have ever seen. It would have been cute if it was outside. Bob hurried to catch the "poor little guy," but he was quickly lost in the computer cables around the desk. We moved many things to find him, but he seems to have disappeared for now. I hope not to find him on my pillow, in my makeup bag, or in the silverware drawer!
